Volunteering

Room for One More is always in need of Volunteers. It takes a lot of time and energy to run a rescue shelter and with full time jobs it makes it even harder. So we could use all the help we can get. Here are some of the area's we desperately need help in. If you ever wanted to get involved in a rescue this is a great opportunity!

Fundraising:

Running Room for One More costs us roughly 5000.00 per month. This includes rent, electric, telephone, trash pickup, medications, vaccinations and vetting our animals. We survive on donations. We do not have any government support and we have no grants at this time. It gets harder and harder to be in three places at once. Running the rescue, doing adoptions, cleaning and fundraising in addition to lives outside of rescue (what is that??) We are looking for people who can attend bake sales, food drives, and other fundraisers. We need man/woman power! Of course we show you how its done! This is great to do with your kids too!

Cleaning:

On average our kennel manager is at the rescue 12-13 hours a day cleaning, medicating, excersising, and doing adoptions. It is a lot for one person. We are looking for anyone who would like to help out during the week or on weekends. Even if one person comes in and just scoops litter pans, or just does dishes, or cleans the cat room, the office etc. The days we need the most help on are Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat, or Sun.

Bathing Dogs:

Sometimes it is easier said than done! But lets face it, puppies can get messy really fast! They play in the mud, in their kennels, in the grass etc. They are always a mess! And its not just the puppies that are pouncing the dirt. Our adult dogs forget that they arent puppies! We have a full bathroom with a bathtub and lots of wiggling dogs that could use regular bathing!
