Barn
Cat Program
We have
several Feral cats who are not suitable for
inside house cats. But these kitties are
excellant outdoor "barn" cats. All of
the Barn cats in the program will be
spayed/neutered and have their shots. They will
be available for a reduced adoption fee. To
participate in this program an adoption
application will need to be filled out and can be
picked up at the shelter. Help these
"unwanted" cats have a warm safe home.
The most common misconception about Feral cats is
that they spread disease, or that they are a
public nuisance. Chances are you will rarely see
them and if you do, it will only be a few of
them. Feral cats are wild animals, just as much
as racoons, and the chances of getting rabies
from a cat is very small. However it is healthier
for these cats to be spayed/neutered and to have
their shots. ALL of our barn cats will be altered
and up to date on rabies, distemper and
FIV/Leukemia testing.
See our Feral
cat link to find out more about these beautiful
and misunderstood animals.
